QR code
A code printed on every tax invoice carrying the seller PAN, buyer PAN, bill number, date and amounts so the IRD can verify it.
In detail
The QR code on a tax invoice is a machine-readable summary the IRD requires under the 2082 procedure so that any officer, or any buyer, can scan the bill and compare it with what CBMS holds. It encodes the seller PAN, the buyer PAN, the invoice number, the dates, the taxable amount, the VAT and the total. Because it is generated from the submitted document, it cannot be faked on a reprint or edited after the fact; a mismatch between the scan and the paper means the paper was altered. BRAccount adds it automatically to the Tax Invoice and Abbreviated Tax Invoice print formats, so there is nothing to set up beyond keeping the company PAN correct in IRD Settings.
How to record it in BRAccount
- 01Submit a Sales Invoice from Invoicing and click Print with the Tax Invoice format.
- 02Find the QR code on the printed bill, usually beside the totals.
- 03Scan it with any phone camera; it shows PAN 999999999, the bill number and Rs 36,160 for the demo invoice.
- 04If the PAN in the code is wrong, fix it in Nepal IRD > IRD Settings; new prints update.
- 05Keep the code on every customer copy; a bill without it is not a valid tax invoice.
When to use it
Automatic on the tax invoice print format.
Example from the demo books
Scanning the demo invoice's QR shows PAN 999999999 and Rs 36,160.
