CBMS

Also called: Central Billing Monitoring System

The IRD's server that receives a copy of every electronic invoice and credit note in real time.

In detail

The Central Billing Monitoring System is the IRD server that receives a copy of every electronic tax invoice and credit note the moment it is issued, so the tax office sees sales in real time rather than waiting for the monthly return. The posting carries the seller PAN, buyer PAN, bill number, dates in both calendars, taxable amount, VAT and total. When BRAccount submits a Sales Invoice it sends the record to CBMS at once; if the server is down the invoice is still valid, the attempt is logged and retried every hour until it succeeds. The CBMS Sync Log shows every attempt, and the Monthly Close checks that nothing is left unsynced before the VAT return is filed.

How to record it in BRAccount

  1. 01Go to Nepal IRD > IRD Settings and enter the CBMS username, password and endpoint the IRD issued; tick Enable Sync.
  2. 02Submit a Sales Invoice from Invoicing; the sync runs in the background right after submission.
  3. 03Go to Nepal IRD > CBMS Sync Log and open the invoice's row; status reads Success or Failed with the response.
  4. 04For a failure, fix the cause named in the response, such as a missing buyer PAN, and click Retry.
  5. 05Before filing the VAT return, filter the log by month and confirm every submitted invoice shows Success.

When to use it

Submitting an invoice posts it to CBMS automatically; failures retry hourly and show in the CBMS Sync Log.

Example from the demo books

3 of 3 demo invoices show Success in the log.
