Asset Shift Factor
The multiplier for each shift name, for example Single 1, Double 2, Triple 3. No ledger effect.
In detail
An Asset Shift Factor is a tiny master that names a shift pattern and gives it a multiplier: Single is 1, Double is 2, Triple is 3, and you can add others such as Half at 0.5 for a seasonal machine. One factor is marked default and is used when a schedule is built without any allocation. The factor itself has no ledger effect; it only feeds Asset Shift Allocation, which rescales the depreciation rows. Keep the names plain so the operator filling in the allocation picks the right one. A wrong factor shows up as a depreciation month far larger than the others.
Formula
Shift factor = Shifts run in the period / Standard single shift; Double = 2
How to record it in BRAccount
- 01Go to Assets > Asset Shift Factor > New.
- 02Type the shift name, for example Double, and the factor 2.
- 03Tick Default on the normal single shift factor only.
- 04Save. Pick the factor on rows of an Asset Shift Allocation.
When to use it
Create under Assets > Asset Shift Factor; pick it on the schedule and allocation.
Example from the demo books
Factor Double shift equals 2.
