Asset Depreciations and Balances
Per asset category: opening cost, additions, disposals, depreciation and closing written down value for a period.
In detail
Asset Depreciations and Balances is the movement table that financial statements present as the fixed asset note: per asset category, opening cost, additions, disposals and closing cost, then opening accumulated depreciation, the charge, depreciation eliminated on disposal and closing accumulated depreciation, and finally net value. Nepali audited accounts and the income tax depreciation schedule both want exactly this layout, so run it for the full fiscal year at closing. It is built from Asset records and their posted depreciation entries, and the closing net value per category must equal the fixed asset accounts less Accumulated Depreciation in the Balance Sheet. Office Equipment shows cost Rs 1,00,000, depreciation to date and the written down value.
Formula
Closing cost = Opening cost + Additions - Disposals; Closing net value = Closing cost - Closing accumulated depreciation
