Asset Depreciation Ledger
Each depreciation entry posted per asset per period, with the Journal Entry reference.
In detail
The Asset Depreciation Ledger lists every depreciation actually posted, one row per asset per period: the asset, depreciation date, amount, accumulated depreciation after it and the Journal Entry that posted it. The Asset Depreciation Schedule says what should happen; this ledger shows what did, so it is the report to check that the monthly Depreciation Entry ran and that the total agrees with the Accumulated Depreciation account. Each row traces to a Journal Entry of type Depreciation Entry, Dr Depreciation - Property, Plant and Equipment, Cr Accumulated Depreciation. The demo shows the monthly Rs 1,235.54 charge, posted by ACC-JV-2026-00091, across the chairs, table and laptop.
Formula
Accumulated depreciation = Sum of posted depreciation amounts up to the date; period charge = (Cost - Salvage) / Total number of depreciations
