Bank Account (rename me)

Also called: Bank, Current Account

Your main business bank account, on the Balance Sheet. Rename it to the real bank, for example Nabil Bank Current Account, before go-live.

In detail

Bank Account (rename me) is the placeholder bank ledger the chart ships with, meant to become the company's main current account, for example Nabil Bank Current Account, before the first real posting. It has account type Bank, so Payment Entries list it as a bank account, and the Bank Account master under Banking links it to the statement import and the Bank Reconciliation Tool, which matches each Bank Transaction row to a Payment Entry or Journal Entry and sets its clearance date. Every receipt and payment that goes through the bank posts here, and the monthly reconciliation proves the ledger against the statement. In the demo books Payment Entry ACC-PAY-2026-00001 debited it Rs 36,160 from Jivan Dahal.

Formula

Ledger balance = Opening balance + Receipts - Payments; after reconciliation it equals the bank statement less uncleared items.
