Travel and Conveyance
Also called: Local Conveyance, Taxi Fare
Local taxi, bus and bike fuel costs for moving around town on business, on the Profit and Loss statement.
In detail
Travel and Conveyance is the second travel ledger in the chart, created by the standard template alongside Travel Expenses. A practical split is to use this one for local conveyance, the taxi to the IRD office, the microbus fare to a client meeting, fuel for the office scooter, and keep Travel Expenses for out-of-town trips with lodging. Both are debited by Journal Entry against Cash or the employee's advance and both need a cost center. Local fares rarely come with bills, so a signed conveyance claim with date, route and purpose is the document the auditor expects. Whatever the split, record it on the account description so the two ledgers are not used at random.
Formula
Travel and Conveyance for the period = Local fares and fuel on signed conveyance claims
